InstaFriday Fun: Moments Captured

It's been a crazy busy week.  Truthfully?  It's been a crazy busy four weeks.  And it's catching up with me.

But, taking a peek at moments captured with my ever present phone and shared on Instagram (I'm @timecrafted over there, come say hello!) these last seven days, makes me smile and reminds me where I've been.  Come take a stroll with me?

Bringing the kidlets home from school, we noticed a solitary water droplet from the morning's sprinklers resting atop a fallen leaf on the edge of the driveway, thought it was beautiful and worth a pause.

Our neighbors cut down their large flowering plum tree and we've been amazed by the colorful morning treat we now see...aka, the sunrise.

Sweet girl & I wait at the school picnic tables for the big brother after school most weekdays.

Last weekend, after celebrating my best friend's birthday several towns away, I took some time to revisit some old stomping grounds from my early teen years before returning home.

I tried hopping back into the #fmsphotoaday photo challenge that I enjoyed so much this summer.  The theme was #angle and I snapped the side of my laptop to fulfill the bill.

When I got back into town, Hubs & the kids raced to tell me of a surprise in the backyard they discovered while I was gone.  This last summer, we did NOT plant anything new.  Consequently, we only had our existing artichoke and apple tree producing for us this year.

However, last year's set aside tomato cages had ideas of their own...and grew a huge tomato plant full of ripening tomatoes!!! These two were ready this week and I expect another several dozen in the next week.  Pretty cool surprise, huh?!

What surprised you this week?

Friday Fun: Star Wars Geek Love

In honor of Star Wars being re-released in 3-D today, starting with Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, I thought I'd share with you a li'l Star Wars Geek Love.

"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... "

...there was Steampunk R2-D2, made from a beer barrel...

...and he has a scrap metal, steampunk friend.

But, in case these aren't the droids you're looking for...

...there's always Google to help a Stormtrooper out.

"You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon? ...

... It’s the ship that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs."

But, if ships don't do it for you...

"Laugh it up, Fuzzball!"

Let's get serious now...

“These blast points — too accurate for sandpeople. Only imperial stormtroopers are so precise.”

Now, that's precise!

And in the end, Darth Vader has the right attitude...

...who knew Darth could be so zen?!

Maybe this is just before Luke pulls Anakin Skywalker's mask off, ya think??

"May the Force be with you."

Friday { Flash Mob } Fun

Thanks to that commercial with the man in the train station who mistakenly begins his flash mob dance at the wrong time, I recently learned that Hubs & I do not share a love for flash mobs.

And to clarify which side of The Great Flash Mob Divide li'l ol' me falls on....I {heart} them!!!  Nope, never done one.  But, I absolutely Love watching them.  Thank goodness for YouTube!

Join me in my YouTube Flash Mob watching addiction, won't you?! :>

Sound of Music's Do Re Mi sends me zoomin' back down memory lane, visiting all those years I've watched.  And it's even better now that I can share it with my own kidlets.

I'm such a sucker for a musical...on stage, in the theater, on the tube...it's no wonder I've watched this one a few times now.

Have you seen this one yet?

Can't think of a better way to send the splendid San Francisco off and head to Hawaii.  (Though Frisco is near, Hawaii, I've never seen.)

There are flash mobs for fun, to promote events, tv shows, musical artists, products, and...

...some great causes!  Love the ones with school kids taking a stand against bullying.

I did mention I'm a sucker for a musical, right?!

Well, I am.  Which makes it such a shocker that I came to Glee after the first season.  Though I was late to the party, I never want to leave.

So, I've caught up with Glee a la Netflix and am watching The Glee Project on Hulu.

Annnnndddd......since Glee: the 3D Concert Movie comes out today, I'm leaving you with this:

Do you Gleek out?!  Will you be at the theater?  Are you waiting on season 3?  Are your playlists filled with music from the Glee cast?

And if you love to see a flash mob get their groove or their song on, if it brings a smile, please talk to me & lend some weight to happy side of The Great Flash Mob Divide! ;>

Friday Fun with Cartoon Inspiration

The firestorm of cartoon character debates that flew through our living room when I answered Bruna's Let's BEE Friends interview questions for my feature on her blog today were wide and wild.  Everyone had their opinions as to who the best was and the reasons why were as varied as the cartoon characters were.

I haven't been able to get a few of those characters off of my mind.  Let's welcome the weekend in with some Friday Fun and take a stroll through a few things that have been created with a couple of these characters in mind.

That cake ROCKS!!!

Crayon roll ups are great in the car & for coloring in unexpected places!

How cute would these be at a party!

Wonder Woman
Okay, I realize now, I wasn't thinking of Wonder Woman from the comic or a cartoon, but rather Lynda Carter kicking some butt!

I want one!

This gives me so many ideas for kidlet wallets, party favors, a way to include more pics, journaling, or memorabilia on a scrapbook page!

So sweet. Outwear that reminds me of Underoos. I can't remember if I had Wonder Woman, but I know I had SuperGirl!

And since I'm still singing La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, laaaa...and I do adore Neil Patrick Harris and Project Runway with the fabulous Tim Gunn started last night and Jayma Mays is cute as a button...

...did you sing along?  You did, didn't you.  It's okay, you can admit it.  Wouldn't want you to get blue or anything over it. ;>  Will you be getting Smurf'd and seeing this 'reimagining'?  I promised the kidlets one more trip to the movies this summer, so it's this or Winnie the Pooh.

Happy Friday!  Hope you're on your way to wickedly fun & wildly wonderful weekend!

Friday Fun with Lego!

To my surprise, two of my most popular posts are about the Lego obsession in this house.  Apparently, we weren't the only ones swimming in & stepping on them!

Earlier this year, I shared the insane amount of Lego bricks my son has when we dumped all of his loose Lego pieces on the living room floor in A Landslide of Lego Love and then when we had finished sorting them, we went from Lego Landslide to Organized!  (And I'm happy to say, six months later and they're still organized!)

But, my son's Lego bricks and sets aren't the only ones in this house.  My husband has them too!  He has a large collection of Star Wars Lego sets, to my son's delight.  And my Princess has a few sets of her own too (though, there's more pink involved!).  So, you can see, there's a whole lotta Lego Love goin' on around here.

Though I'm the only one without a Lego of my own here, I do appreciate Lego creativity and thought we all could have a little Lego fun to welcome in the weekend with!

About a year ago, this uber fast Lego recap of the first three Star Wars movies....the first three to come out, that is, was made.  It has almost five million views, so you may have seen it.  I had and still think it's so Worth the Click...and the watch!

And two months ago, another uber fast Star Wars Lego video was done of Star Wars Chapters 1-3, which of course, came out 4th, 5th, and 6th.  What was used for a pregnant belly cracked me up!  Don't blink or you might miss it!

Hope you have a fantastic weekend.  Anyone with any special plans?
